BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi-Jordanian Joint Committee to Facilitate Transport and Trade failed to reach an agreement on a railway connection between the two countries and opening a transit route to Jordanian commodities to Turkey and Europe, according to Saudi Al-Sharq al-Awsat daily today.
The paper quoted Iraqi Transport Undersecretary Bengin Rikani's comments at the end of the committee's meetings.
He added that the financing of the project is the main obstacle facing the project.
Rikani said that Iraqi-Jordanian obstacles facing exports and imports of the two sides were mostly finalized.
