KARBALA / Aswat al-Iraq: No interest loans will be given to 1000 members of the Karbala Industries Union to set up small and medium scale projects and to support the local industry, the director of the union said on Thursday.
"We have an agreement from the Finance Ministry to give loans to industrialists in Karbala to rehabilitate their factories, which most of them ceased after toppling of the former regime in 2003," Houraa Abdullah told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
"The loans range from 15 million for small projects to 75 million for the big one and will be repaid in five years with no interest," she added.
"The loans aim to reactivate the industrial sector and to develop it."
