BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi parliament failed today in demoting minister of youth and sports Jassim Mohammed Jaffar for insufficient votes, according parliament media sources.

The source told Aswat al-Iraq that the parliament could not gather the necessary votes to withdraw confidence from the minister.

102 votes were for the minister, out of 250 votes participating in the session.

The necessary figure for the demotion is to be 163 votes.
