Barzani needs more time for new initiative, Kurdish leader
2/19/2013 2:31 PM

ARBIL/ Aswat al-Iraq: A Kurdish leader stated today that the Kurdish leadership did not submit any initiative to solve the current political crisis in Iraq, pointing that the matter "needs more consultations and study to guarantee the success of such initiative".

MP Mahmoud Othman, in a comment on his personal Face book, added that there are "internal and external pressures on the Kurdish president Masoud Barzani on this matter".

He added that "the coming days will witness more meetings and consultations before making an official initiative and the possibilities of making it a success".

"The main thing is to solve the differences between Arbil and Baghdad, which lasted for the last few years", he confirmed.

Iraq is suffering a chronic political crisis, which is the most dangerous since the downfall of the previous regime in 2003.
