DIALA / Aswat al-Iraq: An element of the pro-government Sahwa (Awakening) forces has been killed in an attack by an armed group, using silencer-fixed weapons, in Baaquba city on Wednesday, a security source reported.

“A group of armed men opened fire from silencer-fixed weapons against a Sahwa element in central Baaquba on Wednesday, killing him on the spot,” the security source Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

Baaquba, the center of east Iraq’s Diala Province, is 57 km to the northeast of Baghdad.
