BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: A lawmaker from the White Bloc said on Monday that 110 legislators from different blocs signed to cast a vote of no confidence against Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi.

 

 

"Al-Nuajifi's decision not to adjourn the extraordinary session and his insistence to make it consultative force us to topple him from his post," Aziz al-Mayahi said in a statement.

 

 

"Al-Nujaifi with inflammatory slogans of sectarian violence and his silence towards abuses suffered by a particular component, whether by some politicians or protesters through descriptions of unacceptable or sectarian slogans in addition to violating the Constitution in a special meeting made him ineligible for the presidency of the highest legislative authority in the country," he added.
