SALAH AL-DIN / Aswat al-Iraq: Three gunmen were killed on Tuesday during a wide-scale military operation in Salah al-Din and Diala, according to a security source.
“A force from the 4th division of the Iraqi army waged a wide-scale operation against armed groups in Salah al-Din and Diala provinces,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The forces clashed with gunmen who were hiding in a deserted house in north of Baaquba, capital of Diala, killing three of them” he added.
Tikrit, the capital of Salah al-Din, lies 175 km north of Baghdad.
