US forces observe Baghdad airport, CBI and Customs, Mada newspaper
BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi al-Mada daily quoted an official that a US force entered Baghdad International Airport and became responsible of searching Iranian planes heading for Syria through Iraqi airspace.
The US checking procedures was to prevent any Iranian military support to the Syrian regime.
The source added that "there are American experts watching the Central Bank of Iraq for not smuggling money or money laundering inside it, as well as the General Customs Department to ensure that no forbidden materials will enter Iraq".
On the other hand, the paper quoted Kurdish Alliance speaker MP Mu'ayad al-Tayyib's approval for such measure, if it is done with the permission of the Iraqi government.
Iraqi government announced that it will not permit using it is air space to transport weapons to any of the Syrian conflicting parties.
In this connection, the government rejected the flight of North Korean plane to pass to Syrian for doubts it was carrying arms to the Syrian regime.
US officials charged Iran last month that re-started transporting weapons through Iraqi air space, which matter was rejected by Iraq and demanded Washington to provide it is evidences.
