Kirkuk NGOs reject Dijla military command
11/12/2012 6:35 PM

KIRKUK / Aswat al-Iraq: A number of NGO members demonstrated here today to reject the formation of Dijla military command in the province, stressing it will not serve the interests of Kirkuk population.

The demonstrators expressed support to Kirkuk governor's stand to reject the command working in the province.

They demanded to keep the security dossier in the hands of the province itself.

A letter in this regard was sent to Premier Nouri al-Maliki, demanding his reply within 7 days, "otherwise other strict measures shall be taken in Kirkuk".

The demonstration took place within heavy security measures, but ended peacefully.
