BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqiya bloc announced here today that it "informed the security authorities of a new attempt to assassinate its leader Iyad Alawi through rocketing his house and offices.
Spokeswoman Maysoon al-Damalouji said, in a statement, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, added that "unnamed" regional countries are trying to "control Iraq through imposing their policies and attacking national figures that refuse to surrender to their will".
Earlier, Alawi charged on 22 April, 2012, through Egyptian Roz al-Yousif magazine, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards of planning to assassinate him, as well as receiving a number of warnings from friendly Arab countries.
Damalouji reported on 9 March 2012 that "there were plans to assassinate Alawi".
