Cornerstone for Liwan project laid down in Thi Qar

Thi Qar/ Aswat al-Iraq: An inauguration ceremony was held here to lay down the cornerstone of building 850 villas and a power station with the amount of 500 million dollars.

The ceremony was attended by the United Arab Emirates ambassador Abdulla al-Shihi.

The project is to be implemented by UAE Company.

On trade exchange between Iraq and the Emirates, Shihi reported that trade exchange was reduced to reach 4.6 billion dollars in 2011, while it reached in 2010 to 5.6 billion dollars.

Iraqi exports to the Emirates were increased from $300 million in 2003 to $1.350 million last year.

The permission for the project was given in 15 January, 2010.

Nassiriya, center of the province, lies 365 km south of the capital, Baghdad.
