WASSIT / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Armed Forces' Command decided to annex Wassit province within the operations range of Rafidain Operations Command, as reported by the governor.
Governor Mehdi al-Zubaidi told Aswat al-Iraq that the province was detached from Mid-Euphrates Operations Command.
Rafidain Operations Command includes Wassit, Missan, Nassiriya and Muthanna provinces.
He added that the operations commands are under the control of the central government which has the right to move them according to security situations.
The Mid-Euphrates Operations Command covered Karbala, Diwaniya and Babel provinces.
Kut, center of Wassit province, lies 180 km east of the capital, Baghdad.
