BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Interior ministry foiled today an attempt to smuggle 8 vehicles carrying arms into Syrian territories, stressing that clashes went for 9 hours between the smugglers and the security forces.

Ministry's spokesman General Saad Ma'an said in press statement today that the battle continued from yesterday night till today's morning.

The security forces seized six vehicles and burnt two.
