BABEL/ Aswat al-Iraq: Police commander here disclosed that high security alert was imposed in the province, following confessions made by some arrested gunmen that attacks will be made here.

General Abbas Abid told Aswat al-Iraq that a number of gunmen were arrested and confessed that there will attacks against some provinces today, 14 January, 2012, which obliged the authorities to impose high alert to control the situation.

He added that the confessions expected "to have a bloody day in the province".
