BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani discussed with Iraqiya bloc leader Iyad Alawi the current political situation in the country, calling to solve pending questions through the constitution and national partnership, according to a Presidential statement.

The statement, as was received by Aswat al-Iraq, added that the meeting stressed the importance of containing the problems in a fraternal atmosphere.

Talabani returned to Baghdad last Saturday from Germany following medical check ups.

Political circles are waiting Talabani to finalize the preparations for the national conference to solve the disputes that were increased and magnified following US forces withdrawal at the end of the last year.
