BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Justice and Reform Movement Secretary General Sheikh Abdullah al-Yawar directed his fellow members at Ninewa Provincial Council to suspend their membership "in solidarity with Iraqi women prisoners and detainees".

In a statement, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, he called premier Nouri al-Maliki to bear constitutional and ethical responsibility, criticizing "the careless stand of the government".

It added that the membership suspension will continue for 72 hours, otherwise "the movement will have another stand".
