ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq: Four armed men, belonging to the underground “Islamic State of Iraq” have been detained in west Iraq’s Anbar Province on Tuesday, according to an Anbar police source.

“Intelligence information and the following up of movements of wanted persons in Anbar cities have enabled the police bodies to arrest four wanted elements of the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq,” involved in armed acts against Iraqi civilians and members of security forces,” the police source said.

He added that the four wanted men were arrested in an area east of Qaim township in west Anbar, when they were using a civilian car.

Ramadi, the center of Anbar Province, is 110 km to the west of Baghdad.
