Exxon Mobil should get government's approval before selling its share, Oil Ministry

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Oil Ministry rejected US Exxon Mobil selling it is share in West Qurna before having its approval, according to the contract.
 
 
Oil Ministry legal department said that Exxon Mobil has the right to sell it is share, provided that the buying company should be qualified at the ministry.
 
 
"Exxon Mobil shall be responsible for any liability after selling its share", the source said.
 
 
The central government threatened to abrogate any contract for any company that deals directly with Kurdistan region, in fields of exploration and extraction, without the prior consent.
 
 
Exxon Mobile signed an oil exploration contract in number of Kurdish parts and some disputed areas in Ninewa province without resorting to Baghdad.
 
 
These contracts deprived the company of participating in the fourth oil bids last May.
