ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq: Two soldiers were killed and two more were wounded on Monday in an armed attack on an army checkpoint in north of Ramadi, a police source said.
"An armed group attacked a checkpoint belongs to 4th and 7th division of the Iraqi army in al-Tharthar region, north of Ramadi, killing two soldiers and wounding two more," the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
"Security forces intensified their deployment as a precautionary measure," he added.
Ramadi, the capital of Anbar, is 110 km west of Baghdad.
