BABEL / Aswat al-Iraq: Governor of Babel survived an attempt on his life on Monday in central Hilla, according to a security source.
"A car bomb exploded this morning near the motorcade of Governor Mohammad al-Massoudi, injuring four of his bodyguards," the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency, noting that the governor was not hurt.
Hilla, the capital of Babel, is 100 km south of Baghdad.
