10/26/2011 8:15 PM

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sadr supported the measures taken by Iraqi minister of higher education to demote some university personnel who were connected with the former Baath Party, as stated by his office.

The statement, received by Aswat al-Iraq, confirmed Sadr's viewpoint to "uproot the Bath party and its members."

The Iraqi Higher Education Ministry demoted 140 professors and university personnel in Tikrit University, while the president of the University resigned in protest for these measures.
