Ready to hand myself over to government voluntarily, Hayis
ANBAR/ Aswat al-Iraq: Head of Anbar Salvation Council attributed the arrest warrant against him is for his "fight against Qaeda and armed groups, as well as exposing the corrupt people in the state and Anbar province".
Sheikh Hameed al-Hayis told Aswat al-Iraq he will voluntarily hand himself over to the security forces, because he fears nothing wrong.
He added that the arrest warrant was "to protect the corrupt people in government establishment".
Hayis stressed that he worked with his tribe to combat Qaeda organization and armed groups all these years.
"The arrest warrant is a new lie, but I will respect the law and hand myself over to the government", he confirmed.
He added that Anbar Police Commander Hadi Irzayij is charged with terrorism and corruption.
Earlier, Irzayij informed Aswat al-Iraq, on Thursday that the arrest warrant was issued against Hayis with terrorism charges, but he denied the allegations of corruption in his department.
Sheikh Hayis, on 30 July last, charged Irzayij with "security failure" and called the Interior Ministry to end the security deterioration in the province.
Anbar province lies 110 km west the capital, Baghdad, is one of the hot areas in the security situation in Iraq, with continued violent actions.
