2 cops, 1 civilian hurt in mortar shells explosion in Anbar

 ANBAR/ Aswat al-Iraq: Police sources said here today that two cops and one civilian were hurt by two mortar shells explosion directed against the residence of Sheikh Hameed al-Hayis, Chairman of Anbar Rescue Council, north of the province.

 

The source told Aswat al-Iraq that the shells were shot from unknown site.

 

No other details were given.

Anbar province witnessed a series of explosions, including a suicidal attack that led to tens of casualties, including MP Ifan al-Issawi.

 

Since 22 December 2012, Anbar province witnessed massive demonstrations and sit-in, in addition to Ninewa, Salahal-Din, Diala, Kirkuk and Baghdad demanding the release of innocent detainees and prisoners, while others called for toppling Maliki's government.

 

Ramadi, center of the province, lies 110 km west of the capital, Baghdad.
