Iraq reserves on Arab League resolution on Syria

BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Iraq expressed it is reservation on paragraphs contained on an Arab League resolution on Syria.

The resolution was to impose UN Security Chapter VII against Syria, which will legitimatize "military intervention".

According to Iraqi official sources, Iraq welcomed the efforts to unite Syrian opposition, but expressed reservations on paragraphs that counter the efforts of Arab League envoy Al-Akhdhar al-Ibrahimi.

The Arab League issued a number of resolutions yesterday connected with the Syrian question, including continued efforts to coordinate stands at the UN Security Council, support of Ibrahimi's mission and adopting dialogue to peaceful transfer of power.

Lebanon refused to participate in the Arab League due to its "sensitive" relation with Syria.
