NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: Two policemen were wounded on Friday in an armed attack on the office on Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's State of Law in northern Mosul, a security source said.
"Unknown gunmen attacked the office using machine guns in al-Hadbaa neighborhood in northern Mosul, injuring two policemen guarding the office, the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
"No casualties have been recorded among the office's staff," he added, noting that the gunmen fled to an unknown area.
Scores of people were killed or wounded in a series of attacks that ripped through Babel, Baghdad and Karbala.
The attacks were the latest in a spate of violence coinciding with growing tensions between Iraq's Sunni, Shiite and ethnic Kurdish factions.
Violence has fallen from the height of intercommunal strife that killed tens of thousands in 2006-2007, but insurgents have continued to carry out at least one high-casualty attack a month since the US withdrawal in December 2011.
