NINEWA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Police sources said here today that unknown gunmen assassinated a Captain in police intelligence, while a military force managed to kill two of culprits.

The source told Aswat al-Iraq that three gunmen attacked the officer before his residence, north of Mosul.

The source added that a military force shot the culprits and killed two of them.

No other details were given.

Mosul, center of the province, lies 405 km north of the capital, Baghdad.
