KIRKUK / Aswat al-Iraq: Security sources said today that a military armored unit was stationed in southern part of Kirkuk city, while Kurdish Peshmerga forces concentrated their presence in the northern part.

The military unit arrived early morning today coming from Tikrit, Salah al-Din province.

The source told Aswat al-Iraq that the military unit took its  positions in Rashad area, 35 km south west of Kirkuk city, which led Kurdish leadership to push more than 500 Peshmerga personnel in the northern part of the city.
