BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Usama al-Nujaifi, discussed on Wednesday with British ambassador in Baghdad ways of boosting bilateral relations and issues of common interest, an official statement said.
"Al-Nujaifi received at his office in Baghdad Ambassador Saimon Collis, with whom he discussed ways of boosting bilateral relations and issues of common interest," said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
"The two officials discussed the latest political developments in Iraq and the elections law being discussed in the parliament," it added.
"They tackled also the situation in the war-ravaged Syria and the war in Gaza , as well as the upcoming visit by al-Nujaifi to the Gaza Strip leading an Iraqi parliamentary delegation."
