SALAH AL-DIN / Aswat al-Iraq: Two policemen were killed and two more were wounded in an armed attack in south of Tikrit, a police source said on Sunday morning.

"Unknown gunmen attacked late Saturday a police checkpoint in Yathreb district, south of Tikrit, using machine guns killing two policemen and injuring two others," the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

Yathreb district is 125 km south of Tikrit, the capital of Salah al-Din province.
