Barzani calls from Davos to end current crisis

ARBIL/ Aswat al-Iraq: Kurdish region president Masoud Barzani called for terminating the current political crisis which became "a danger" threatening the whole political process in the country.

In a statement here, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, Barzani met Turkish foreign minister Ahmet Dawood Oglu, during Davos economic conference held in Switzerland.

He added that the Kurdish region received, till now, more than 60.000 Syrian refugees.

Both sides discussed topics of mutual concern, including enhancing bilateral relations, particularly after the current crisis and the deterioration of Syrian situation and its effects on the region.

Oglu disclosed that Turkey received more than 160.000 Syrian refugees, the statement added.

Barzani left Arbil on 21 January instant for Europe with a high ranking delegation.
