Only 46 women detained for questioning, press statement
BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Higher Jurisdiction Council disclosed that only 46 women are detained for questioning, while Ministry of Women pledged to preserve the rights of women prisoners and rejected abusing them.
Chairman of Higher Jurisdiction Council Judge Midhat al-Mahmoud, in a press statement, disclose that only 46 women are detained for questioning, including some women who were captured in a Qaeda Divan who are "still innocent till proved guilty", as he added.
Mahmoud pointed that one of the women delivered a baby during questioning and got the necessary medical care.
Regarding Central Bank of Iraq women officials, he added that orders were given to expedite the questioning process.
The total figure of women detained in the Central Bank of Iraq reached to 22, as he added.
On the other hand, Ministry of Women expressed its high respect for women and their human rights.
The ministry rejected any violation to women rights.
