NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: Three policemen were killed and injured in a bomb explosion in south of Mosul, while two security guards were killed in an armed attack in south of Mosul on Thursday, a police source said.
"An explosive charge went off targeting a police vehicle patrol in al-Shoura district, south of Mosul, killing two elements and injuring a third one and damaging the vehicle," the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
"A man working in the security guards of parliament's speaker and his brother, a security element, were killed by gunmen who attacked their house in Hamam al-Alil district, south of Mosul," the source added.
Mosul, the capital of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
