NINEWA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Most of the shops were closed in Mosul city in response for the general strike called to by Ahrar square demonstrators, who, now, began to demand toppling the government and the constitution.
Demonstrators' spokesman Ghanim al-Abid told Aswat al-Iraq that the response for the strike was great.
He added that the lawyers, also, joined the ranks of the demonstrators, in addition to syndicates for one day solidarity.
Mosul sit-in entered its 26th day in protest against the policies practiced by the government.
Since 22 December 2012, Anbar province witnessed massive demonstrations and sit-in, in addition to Ninewa, Salahal-Din, Diala, Kirkuk and Baghdad demanding the release of innocent detainees and prisoners, while others called for toppling Maliki's government.
