BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: White Bloc Secretary General Jamal al-Bateekh believed that the return to 2009 agreement on the mixed areas is the starting point to end tensions between Baghdad and Arbil.
In a statement by his office today, he said that "2009 agreement is the best security solution to the mixed areas", pointing that "joint check points will enhance security in these areas, particularly when the general supervision shall be made by the central government".
He added that the constitution is the only solution to get out of all crises.
Kurdish region president Masoud Barzani expressed during his meeting with Parliament Speaker Usama Nujaifi his positive response to pacify the situation and opening negotiations among military leaders in disputed areas and the return to 2009 agreement on joint security administration, according to Kurdish region sources.
