1/29/2013 2:42 AM

ANBAR/ Aswat al-Iraq: Chairman of Iraqi Sahwa (Awakening) Ahmed Abu Risha called Iraqi interior ministry, which controlled the security situation in the province following army withdrawal, to protect the demonstrators, "not to put lies that Qaeda organization is back among the protestors".

Sheikh Abu Risha told Aswat al-Iraq that the surrounding police force is more than 6000 who should protect the demonstrators.

"The protestors are free of Qaeda members and arms", he confirmed.

Since 22 December 2012, Anbar province witnessed massive demonstrations and sit-in, in addition to Ninewa, Salahal-Din, Diala, Kirkuk and Baghdad demanding the release of innocent detainees and prisoners, while others called for toppling Maliki's government.

Ramadi, center of the province, lies 110 km west of the capital, Baghdad.
