Gunmen shoot dead university professor in Mosul

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: Unidentified gunmen shot down the assistant dean of the faculty of fine arts, Mosul University, in eastern Mosul city on Saturday, a local security source said.
“Gunmen opened fire on Yasser Ahmed Sheet, the assistant dean of the fine arts faculty, Mosul University, in front of his house in al-Muthanna neighborhood, eastern Mosul,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“Sheet was killed instantly before the gunmen escaped to an unknown place,” he added, not giving more information.
Mosul, the capital city of the volatile province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
