28 wanted persons arrested in Basra

BASRA / Aswat al-Iraq: Policemen captured 28 persons wanted on different charges during search raids conducted all over the province of Basra on Thursday, according to a local police spokesman.

“Security forces carried out 13 search raids, arresting 28 wanted men facing a range of charges,” Col.
Abdulkareem al-Zaydi, the official in charge of relations & information in the Basra Police Department, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

The oil-rich port city of Basra, Iraq’s only outlet to international waterways, lies 590 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
