Basra governor to resign in two days – TV

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Basra Governor Shaltagh Abboud will resign in two days in response to a request from Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, according to al-Iraqiya satellite channel.
Lawmaker from al-Iraqiya List, Ismail Ghazi told Aswat al-Iraq news agency that the governor presented his resignation before a group of lawmakers and military commanders.
The media director of the Basra council, Hashem al-Laiebi, had underlined that the governor resigned.
