1/16/2013 5:57 PM

BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqiya bloc, headed by Iyad Alawi, denounced the inability of the Iraqi government to protect the people, "but, instead, chasing the demonstrators", calling to cancel all politicized laws and military operations in the provinces.

In a statement today, it added that "the bloody explosions in Kirkuk and other Iraqi sites proved the inability of the government to provide security".

It called to compensate the martyrs and damaged areas.

A series of explosions hit Kirkuk today that led to killing 21 and injuring 154, according to the final toll reported by the province.

Since 22 December 2012, Anbar province witnessed massive demonstrations and sit-in, in addition to Ninewa, Salahal-Din, Diala, Kirkuk and Baghdad demanding the release of innocent detainees and prisoners, while others called for toppling Maliki's government.
