ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq: One soldier was killed and another one was wounded in an armed attack that targeted a military vehicle patrol in east of Falluja, a police source said on Saturday.

 

“An armed group attacked a military vehicle patrol while on duty in al-Askari neighborhood, east of Falluja, killing a soldier and injuring another one,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

 

“Security forces cordoned off the region and started to track down the perpetrators,” he added.

 

Falluja is 60 km west of Ramadi, the capital of Anbar, which lies 110 km west of Baghdad.
