Large military force arrives in Kirkuk for cabinet meeting

KIRKUK / Aswat al-Iraq: A large military force arrived in Kirkuk on Monday as Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is expected to convene a cabinet session in the province on Tuesday, a security source in Kirkuk said.
“The measure aims to maintain security in the province during a cabinet meeting that is expected to be held in the city on Tuesday,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency, adding the force will withdraw after the meeting.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Kamal, leader of the Fraternal Kirkuk bloc at the provincial council, said Maliki will arrive in the company of his cabinet ministers to hold a cabinet session at the provincial council’s meeting hall.
