WASSIT/ Aswat al-Iraq: Wassit province announced that a committee was formed to counter the flood threat in Tigris River.

Governor Mehdi al-Zubaidi told Aswat al-Iraq that the most coming waters are from neighboring countries due to the excess of rain during the past few days.

He added that the percentage of incoming water reached 1100 cubic meter per second.

Zubaidi confirmed that the situation is under control.

Kut, center of the province, lies 180 km south east of the capital, Baghdad.
