KIRKUK / Aswat al-Iraq: An Iraqi policeman has been killed and 3 others were injured in an

armed attack by a group of unknown gunmen southwest of Kirkuk on Thursday, the city's Police Director reported.

 

"A group of unknown gunmen have opened fire on a number of policemen in al-Khabbaza village of al-Riyadh township, 40 km to the southwest of Kirkuk, killing a policeman and wounding 3 others," Lt-Brigadier, Sarhad Qader told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

 

He said the armed men have escaped to an unknown destination, whilst the victim and the injured policemen were driven to Kirkuk Hospital.
