KIRKUK / Aswat al-Iraq: A leader of the Free Syrian Army was arrested on Wednesday by army forces in south of Kirkuk, an army source said.
“A force from the 12th division of the Iraqi army waged on Wednesday evening a security operation in a region south of Kirkuk, where it arrested a leader of the opposition Free Syrian Army,” the source, who asked not to be named, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The operation was launched using accurate intelligence information,” he added, noting that the man entered the Iraqi territory on Jan.
2 , 2013 and met with a number of leaders of Iraqi opposition groups.
He gave no further details.
