Baghdad drowned with heavy rain
1/29/2013 3:39 PM

BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: The Iraqi capital was drowned with heavy rains since yesterday that to blocked traffic and fallen houses.

The heavy rain resulted in closing main routs of the capital that prevented officials to attend their duties and students not to make half-a-year exams.

Karada, a main trade center, was drowned to the extent that the waters entered their houses.

People told Aswat al-Iraq that municipality services were nil.

The world feels optimist by the fall of the rain, but Baghdad was drowned in a lake of mud and dirty water, as the people said to Aswat al-Iraq.

Baghdad Mayoralty announced yesterday forming an operations cell to counter the falling rain immediately, after the last rain fall which led to similar drowning of the capital.

The people thought that the Mayoralty of Baghdad will take heed this time, but nothing was done, according to peoples' statements.
