 Norway desires work in oil projects in Karbala

KARBALA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Norway expressed today its desire to implement oil projects in the province, as reported by the Norwegian ambassador to Baghdad.

In a press conference here, attended by Aswat al-Iraq, Ambassador Peter Olbreg announced that his country is looking for investment opportunities in oil industry.

He added that Norway plans to open a consulate in Karbala, hoping that bilateral talks with the local government will be "fruitful".

Governor Amaluddin al-Hir invited the Norwegian companies to participate in oil ministry's bid in two oil fields in the province.

Karbala, center of the province, lies 108 km south west of the capital, Baghdad.
