40 constitutional violations against government, Nujaifi
12/31/2012 9:40 PM

NINEWA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Parliament Speaker Usama Nujaifi accused the executive authority of not respecting the constitution and using it in an illegal way.

He pointed out, in press conference here, that the parliament registered 40 constitutional violations against the government.

Nujaifi stressed solidarity with Anbar demonstrators, pointing that the case is not a matter of services, but mistaken politics and discrimination among Iraqis.

He called the demonstrators to announce their demands in "a clear and peaceful way without resorting to violence".

"We must listen to the voice of the people, protecting the demonstrators and preventing the security from interfering in such protests", he elaborated.

Nujaifi pointed out that he got knowledge of the demonstrators' demands and found them "constitutional", but added that "the security forces used the terrorism law in an inappropriate manner that they indulged themselves in some violations".
