DIWANIYA / Aswat al-Iraq: Diwaniya governor has announced the arrest of three al-Qaeda's Islamic State of Iraq elements in al-Latifiya region by a police force.

 

"A special police force arrested three men belong to al-Qaeda's Islamic State of Iraq armed group using intelligence information," Salem Hussein Ulwan told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

 

"Two al-Qaeda gunmen, who were busted yesterday, unveiled the hideout of the three detainees at the center of the city," he added.

 

Diwaniya is located 180 km south of Baghdad.
