Diala tribal chieftain killed, 3 others injured

DIALA - Aswat al-Iraq: One of the Shikhs (Chieftains) of northeast Iraq's Diala Province, has been killed and 3 of his companions injured in an explosive charge blast, planted in his car in Khanaquin Township, a Diala governor reported on Wednesday.
 
"An explosive charge, planted in the car of Sheikh Jabbar Hussein, one of the Chieftains of al-Asakira Tribe, blew up on Wednesday morning on the main road connecting Saadiya township with Khanaquin, killing him on the spot and wounding 3 of his companions, alongside causing the destruction of his car," Saadiya's Governor Ahmed al-Zarkoushi told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
 
Zarkoushi did not give further details, but he said that the incident would further deteriorate the security conditions in Saadiya township.
 
Baaquba, the center of Diala province, is 57 km to the northeast of Baghdad.
