Kurdish, Turkish premiers discuss prospects of cooperation

ARBIL / Aswat al-Iraq: The Prime Minister of Kurdistan region Nechirvan Barzani on Saturday discussed with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, ways of expanding cooperation in the economic field, according to an official statement.

 
"The meeting was held on the sidelines of the fourth annual Energy and Economic Summit which is being held in Istanbul," said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

 
"They discussed ways of expanding bilateral cooperation, mainly in the economic and energy fields, as well as bolstering the commercial exchange," it added.

 
The two officials also exchanged viewpoints regarding the latest developments in the region, as they underlined the importance of protecting security and stability in the region.
